Hey Jennie!
There’s really nothing quite like the pleasure of freshly-made espresso so you may be tempted to get your own espresso coffee machine. They can be quite expensive though, so is an espresso machine worth it? Absolutely, if you can make the investment in a good espresso machine.
It’s tempting to get a cheap espresso machine, but you get what you pay for. The only reason to get a cheap espresso maker is if you’re a beginner and want to practice before purchasing a more costly machine.
This isn’t to say that all cheap espresso makers are bad, they can be great for learning and experimenting. However, they tend to give inconsistent results and using cheaper parts can impact overall brewing efficiency and the longevity of the machine.
If you do decide to get a cheap espresso machine, pay close attention to the build of the machine. Go for something durable and well-made within whatever your budget is.
Alternatively, you can consider getting a Moka pot which gives you espresso-quality coffee but is much cheaper. This is probably the cheapest way to make espresso, or something close enough.
Ultimately, a lot of factors play into making good espresso, starting with good beans. Beyond that, as long as your machine is sturdy and well-made it’ll give you good coffee. Good luck with your search!
