This cafe mocha recipe is super simple, but delicious. A great way to enjoy your favorite hot coffee house treat without having to leave your home or spend a fortune! We will show you how to make it and its variations.
How to Make a White Chocolate Mocha without an Espresso Machine
An espresso machine is certainly a useful addition to your home if you want to be able to make any kind of chocolate coffee drink at home, especially if it’s something that you want to be able to do frequently, quickly, and easily.
But it’s not essential to rush out and buy an espresso machine to be able to enjoy a white mocha coffee at home.
Instead of brewing an espresso using a machine, simply mix your favorite espresso powder, or instant coffee granules with a little boiled water to dissolve them completely, and use this in place of a brewed espresso, following the rest of this mocha recipe as it is.
How Much Coffee is in This White Mocha Recipe?
This white chocolate mocha isn’t a particularly strong drink. If you can, use your machine to brew a lungo or long shot with a 1:3 ratio of coffee to water.
A slightly weaker coffee flavor compliments the creamy white chocolate, giving you a smooth, subtle, and sweet hot drink, without the bitter flavors that more coffee, or stronger coffee, would bring.
However, if you prefer a stronger coffee flavor, or need a bigger caffeine boost, brew a double shot instead.
How to Make White Mocha without White Chocolate Sauce
No white chocolate sauce? No problem!
You can swap it for white chocolate coffee syrup if you have it, or you can carefully melt 3 tablespoons of chocolate chips or a small bar of chocolate on the hob in a double boiler until there are no lumps. Pour this into your mug and complete the steps in this recipe.
Ingredients
Directions
Pour 3 tablespoons of white chocolate sauce into your favorite mug or coffee house style latte glass.
Brew your favorite espresso as a long shot with a 1:3 ratio and pour it into the mug and mix.
Carefully heat the milk on the hob in a milk pan, stirring often, or in the microwave, stirring every 20 seconds, until hot but not boiling.
Pour this hot milk over the espresso and white chocolate sauce and stir well.
Top with whipped cream, drizzle with a little more chocolate sauce and add a few white chocolate chips if desired.
