The Café con Leche or Spanish Latte is a popular espresso beverage not only in Spain, but also in Latin America, Saudi Arabia and even in the United States. This drink is slightly sweeter than a regular latte but less than the syrup-flavored ones you order in coffeehouses.
This recipe is very easy-to-do and the ingredients can be found at the convenience of your home.
Ingredients
Directions
Prepare your espresso or brewed coffee using your chosen equipment. Queue espresso shots or brew your dark-roasted ground beans to make one cup of coffee. Use the suggested proportions for the most ideal flavor.
Steam milk and make a frothy consistency. If you prefer your Spanish latte over ice, make sure the milk is chilled enough.
After the espresso or coffee has finished brewing, transfer it into your serving vessel.
Fill the glass with milk and make sure the foam has been incorporated well. This will help make the drink creamier. In the case of the cold version, fill the glass half-way with ice first before adding the milk.
Mix two tablespoons of condensed milk to sweeten your beverage.
You can top your drink with a small dollop of whipping cream to make it more enjoyable.
Indulge in your home-made Spanish Latte. Buen Provecho!
