Hi Shruti,
Lavazza, the world's leading espresso coffee brand, has been recognised as the most ethical brand in Europe at the recent European Coffee Awards ceremony in Milan. The company has committed to fair trade and sustainable farming practices, ensuring that coffee farmers are treated fairly.
Lavazza uses new technologies, such as closed-loop water systems and anaerobic digesters, which reduce its environmental impact. They have lots of employees and customers who are engaged in making the coffee chain as sustainable as possible.
Lavazza’s sustainability efforts are not for the sake of improving their bottom line. They want to make sure that they are able to create value for consumers and all stakeholders in the coffee supply chain.
The company has also established the Non-profit Giuseppe e Pericle Lavazza Foundation in 2004. The foundation has 30 projects in 19 countries, is involved with the protection of biodiversity and sustainable economic development of the areas where it works.
