When was Keurig invented?
John Sylvan and Peter Dragone invented the Keurig coffee machine in 1981. They were trying to invent a better way to brew coffee. They both had a background in engineering and they spent time developing their idea. The first model of the Keurig was patented in 1997 and it was introduced in 1998.

What is the Keurig K-Cup brewing system?
The Keurig K-Cup Brewing System is a single-serve coffee container designed to brew a single cup of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or other hot beverage. They are manufactured by Keurig and licensed to other companies under various brands.
The K-Cup is made of paperboard that is lined with plastic or foil. The cups are typically filled with ground coffee beans, tea leaves, or cocoa powder and sealed before being inserted into the machine. Once inserted into the machine and punctured by a needle in the lid of the cup, hot water rushes through the pod at high pressure, extracting the flavorings and filling the cup with brewed beverage.
How to Use a Keurig
A Keurig is a coffee maker that brews one cup of coffee at a time. It has a water reservoir, which is the space where you place the water. The water reservoir can be removed and filled with fresh cold water when it needs to be refilled.
The machine also has a charcoal filter, which removes impurities in the water before brewing your coffee. The machine’s instructions will tell you how to set up your Keurig for the first time. You will need to fill its reservoir with cold tap water and then rinse it out by pressing "brew" twice without any K-cups in place.
This process removes any residue from manufacturing from the machine’s internal components so that they are ready to make your perfect cup of coffee! There are also two different versions: Keurig 1.0 and Keurig 2.0, with the latter being more advanced and efficient than its predecessor.
The Keurig 1.0 system works with K-Cup pods only, while the newer system can use both K-Cup pods and Keurig-licensed pods (including those from other brands). Both follow the same process when it comes to their daily use:
The first step is to fill the reservoir with water. It is important to use cold or room temperature water, as the machine will not produce the right temperature if you use hot water. It is also important that you do not overfill the reservoir as this may cause overflow and damage your Keurig. Once you have filled it up, make sure that you replace the lid tightly before moving on to step 2.
Next, place a K-Cup inside of the unit by opening up its lid and inserting it into the opening in front of where the coffee comes out from. Make sure that there are no coffee grounds or other objects inside of it beforehand, as these could clog up your Keurig! If there are any, you will need to remove them before continuing.
Once the K-Cup is in place, close the lid and press the "brew" button. The machine will take a few minutes to heat up and then it will start brewing your coffee! You will know that it is finished when the light on the front turns off. Simply remove the K-Cup and enjoy your coffee!
If you would like a stronger cup of coffee, Keurig recommends that you use the "bold" setting. This will make your coffee twice as strong as the regular cup. You can also adjust the size of your cup by pressing the "+" or "-" buttons on the machine.
The Keurig 2.0 system also has a feature that allows you to brew iced coffee. To do this, fill the reservoir with water and place a K-Cup filled with coffee grounds inside of the unit. Close the lid and press the "brew" button. Once it is finished, pour the coffee into a glass filled with ice and enjoy!

Which Keurig Coffee Maker model to buy?

Keurig Environmental impact
