Have you ever wondered how to clean your Ninja Coffee Bar? If so, this blog post is for you! I'll walk you through the process of cleaning your Ninja Coffee Bar system. This includes everything from the carafe to the pitcher and all its accessories.
It's easy once you know how! Read on for tips that will have your machine spick-and-span in no time.
A bit about the Ninja Coffee Bar
A Ninja Coffee bar is a kitchen appliance that can be used to brew coffee. It was originally designed in the 1980s by the Japanese company R&D International Corporation, and its factory is based in Australia.
The design of this machine has been distributed for use in other parts of the world such as North America and Europe. Since then, several companies have come up with their own versions of this appliance. Each company claims to offer the best product in terms of quality, ease in use, and performance.
Ninja coffee makers are actually so popular all over the world that they have garnered over 200 million dollars in annual sales revenue. This machine is currently the most preferred by many people because it can make a number of hot and cold beverages.
The Ninja Coffee Maker is different from the traditional drip brewer because it has a thermal carafe that keeps the coffee hot for over 12 hours. Additionally, it can also be programmed to start brewing at a particular time in the morning so that you can wake up to freshly brewed coffee.
The Ninja Coffee Maker is also a great appliance for making various types of coffee including French press and regular drip. These coffee makers’ thermal carafes are made from stainless steel, while the bases and lids come in plastic materials. The machines also come with a reusable filter that can be removed when cleaning the unit.
How to Clean Your Ninja Coffee Bar
It's no surprise that all coffee makers need a regular clean to offer the best results for your morning coffee. Nobody wants any used coffee grounds ending up in their fresh brew, right? That's why I'll walk you through the steps of cleaning your Ninja coffee machine. I'll also look at why you need to clean your Ninja coffee maker, how often it should be done, and whether there are any products that will help.
Cleaning Your Ninja Coffee Machine
It's important to clean your Ninja Coffee Bar out regularly. I recommend doing this soon after each use. This will allow any excess oils or coffee grounds that are left to be removed before they dry up and become harder to remove. It will also prevent any build-up, which could affect the taste of your next cup of coffee.
To get started, flip open your Ninja Coffee Bar so all parts are accessible - most have a top lid that flips back but some are fully removable if they are tall enough. Then look where you can access each part for cleaning purposes:
Drip Tray: These need to be cleaned regularly to ensure that they are not stained by the coffee oils they catch. I recommend using a dishwasher safe drip tray as this makes the process extra quick and easy. Alternatively, you can clean it with hot water but make sure you dry it thoroughly before putting it back in the machine.
Coffee Filter Basket: This has more parts than some other Ninja Coffee Bars but can still be easily cleaned even without a dishwasher. The easiest way is probably to run some water through it while holding under running water from your sink - alternatively you could use a dishwasher safe basket if there's one available for your model.
Removable Parts: If you have removable parts, for example, for filling or adding ground beans, these will need cleaning more regularly. Rinse with warm water or soak in a solution of vinegar and baking soda (2 parts vinegar, 1 part baking soda) overnight to get rid of any stubborn stains.
Filter Holder: This may be best cleaned using the dishwasher but if that's not possible then simply unscrew it from the machine and rinse with warm water.
Descaling Your Ninja Coffee Machine
The benefits of descaling your machine regularly are as follows: It removes calcium deposits that build up over time. It prevents limescale build up which can lead to blockages. It ensures that your machine is running efficiently and at peak performance
Descaling kits vary in price depending on the hardness of your tap water. But don't worry, they aren't expensive and you can buy them online very easily. I've included a link to one I use in the 'further reading' section below this article if you need more information about it.
Equipment You'll Need
Descaling solution (most come in liquid form), Water, mild washing liquid, paper towels/ kitchen roll
Step 1: Put one teaspoon of descaling solution into the water tank and fill it right up to the maximum fill line with cold water. Put the lid back on and make sure that the arrow is pointing directly at the 'unlock' symbol.
Step 2: Press the 'Brew Now' button and hold it for 5 seconds. When you let go of the button, your coffee maker will start to run through its cycle
Step 3: Once complete, press 'cancel', remove the lid and pour out all of this liquid. You may notice some sludge appearing in your cup as well. This is totally normal so don't be alarmed by it!
Step 4: Finish by rinsing your cleaner with water until there are no more bubbles appearing on the surface before placing it back into storage or making your next caffeine hit!
FAQs
How often should I clean and descale my Ninja Coffee Bar?
It's important to clean it out regularly. I recommend doing this straight after using it. This will ensure all the coffee oils and sugars aren't allowed to dry out, causing a bitter taste.
As for descaling, you can do this every three to six months, but it depends on the quality of your tap water. If you're using filtered or bottled water, I would do it every three months as this will be a lot better to clean with and won't have as much scale in it.
How can I prevent stains & build up?
As with most things these days, if you prevent stains and build-up then there's less need for cleaning!
There are a few options here: For regular cups of coffee with ground beans, only fill the machine with as many grounds as you need - this will help reduce waste and save money in the long run.
If you like multiple cups of coffee, make sure to rinse out the filter basket between each one - this will remove any leftover oils which could give off an unpleasant taste.
