- Use Filtered Water: If you are using tap water to brew coffee, this will contain minerals and other contaminants that will have an impact on the pH balance and the taste of the brew. They will also build up in the lines of your coffee machine over time, which can have an effect on the flow rate and water pressure. Prevent these issues by using filtered water, where these compounds have been removed.
